Abstract
This article is an auto-ethnography reflecting the interactions among society, my family and my brother who has Cerebral Palsy. The experiences of me and my family show the visible and invisible veils that segregate people with disabilities and their families from mainstream Taiwanese society.

Heng-hao Chang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Sociology, Nanhua University in Chia-Yi, Taiwan. His academic interests include disability studies, social movement, cultural analysis, and political sociology. He has been involved in the disability rights movement in Taiwan and in transnational advocacy for disability rights.
